UT666 Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 Hello, I returned some faulty TwinX 2048 c2pt PC3200 ram to the online store (overclockers.co.uk) i bought them from. They said they returned it to Corsair for RMA, and are awaiting parts from them. However this was on the 27/07/06 and i am still waiting, Overclockers.co.uk say the problem is with Corsair, in that they have no ETA for the parts. What can i do? I know for a fact next time i will deal directly with Corsair. Over 2 months for an RMA without even an ETA is surely not acceptable. Any advice on how to get things going would be great, my patience is running thin! ut.
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted October 3, 2006 Corsair Employee Posted October 3, 2006 I do not know why your RMA is taking two months, but I assure you our RMA process does not take that long, average is 7-10 business days any where in the world. I would contact the reseller and ask them for the RMA# from us and I will be happy to check it for you.
UT666 Posted October 3, 2006 Author Posted October 3, 2006 thank you for the reply, will try getting an RMA# off them, I knew this couldnt be due to Corsair :) I have been buying your products for years, and only had good experiences with the products & support... thanks again, ut.
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted October 3, 2006 Corsair Employee Posted October 3, 2006 If you should need to again in the future I would suggest going direct with us, the only down side is you have to pay the shipping to our office in USA!
UT666 Posted October 6, 2006 Author Posted October 6, 2006 Spoke to overclockers.co.uk again, here is the RMA reference for my ram: R143581 Please let me know the status of this and why it is taking over 2 months. Overclockers.co.uk seem pretty ominent that the problem lies with Corsair, and they cant do anything about it. thanks, ut.
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted October 6, 2006 Corsair Employee Posted October 6, 2006 That RMA number was received on 09/06/2006 and new modules were shipped on 09/08/2006 and according to the tracking info they were delivered on the 19th of September!
nordle Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 received on 09/06/2006 new modules were shipped on 09/08/2006 delivered on the 19th of September! When I read that, I thought "jeez, it took two months to ship the modules, then another 4 weeks to arrive, thats not good" But Corsair is American company, so I presume it means you turned those chips around in 2 days and 11days to get back here. Thats more like it :) ocuk have still not replied to my RMA request, nearly 3 weeks ago. I will avoid them in the future. (ps i will update on own rma in own thread, just thought I'd double check those timescales :) )
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted October 11, 2006 Corsair Employee Posted October 11, 2006 Yes that’s correct 2 days to turn them around, and I don’t know why it took so long to get there average is 3-5 days shipping time over seas. But sometimes foreign customs has a cow with high end electronics like this especially memory.
UT666 Posted October 11, 2006 Author Posted October 11, 2006 Hi, Well guess what, I phoned OCuk on sat 7th oct, told them I had checked the RMA# with corsair, and that it had been delivered on the 19th sept and signed by someone called "MARKUS L". First they told me that noone called "MARKUS L" worked for them, and that "magically" they had sent out the ram replacement today (7th oct)... lol... Got the RAM back yesterday, tues 10th oct. Which means all this mallarky took >2 months... All i can advise is try and get the corsair RMA# number from them, and check the same way i did. And then confront them with the facts. And i totally agree with you i will be boycotting Ocuk from now on. Their customer service is v. v. poor imho... ut.
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted October 11, 2006 Corsair Employee Posted October 11, 2006 I am sorry that you had to wait so long, and I have reported this to the Sales Manager for Europe but I am not sure what we can do, other than to ask them about it. At any rate please let me know if you have any questions!
