Extremestuff
Hello I'm having some stability issues with my memory, my Rams are 2xCMX512-3200XLPT XMS3208v1.1, CPU is FX-57 stock no OC, my VDIMM volt is 2.80 I want to insure that memory settings in BIOS are correct: Command Per Clock (CPC)....................... - Enable CAS Latency Control (Tcl)..................... - 2 RAS# to CAS# delay (Trcd)..................... - 2 Min RAS# active time (Tras)................... - 5 Row precharge time (Trp)...................... - 2 Row Cycle time (Trc).......................... - 7 Bus Clocks Row refresh cyc time (Trfc)................... - 11 Bus Clocks Row to Row delay (Trrd)....................... - 02 Bus Clocks Write recovery time (Twr)..................... - 02 Bus Clocks Write to Read delay (Twtr).................... - 02 Bus Clocks Read to Write delay (Trwt).................... - 02 Bus Clocks Refresh Period (Tref)......................... - 3120 Cycles DRAM Bank Interleave.......................... - Enabled DQS Skew Control.............................. - Auto DQS Skew Value................................ - 0 DRAM Drive Strength........................... - Auto DRAM Data Drive Strength...................... - Auto Max Async Latency............................. - Auto DRAM Response Time............................ - Fast Read Preamble Time............................ - Auto IdleCycle Limit............................... - 128 Cycles Dynamic Counter............................... - Enabled R/W Queue Bypass.............................. - 16 x Bypass Max.................................... - 07 x 32 Byte Granularity........................... - Disable(4 Bursts) Please correct me if something wrong with the settings and if you know the values for the fileds with "Auto" I would like to set them manually to their stock values incase the BIOS set them wrong or something. It'd be much appreciated, Thanks in advance
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 26, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 26, 2006 Please make sure you have the latest BIOS installed for your MB (download the Beta version) and the modules should be in slots 1-3 and load optimized defaults settings, and try the following BIOS settings; Genie BIOS/DRAM Configuration DRAM Frequency Set: 2:1 or 400MHz or 200 (if option are 133/166/200) Command per Clock: Disabled SDRAM CAS Latency: 2T SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 2T SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 2T SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 5T And leave the rest at AUTO setting Genie BIOS FSB BUS Frequency: 200 LDT/FSB Frequency ratio: 5X LDT Bus Transfer Width: 16 16 CPU/FSB Frequency ratio: 1-1 / DDR400 PCI Ex: 100 K8 cool N’ quiet: Disable CPU VID Start Up Value: 1.55 (Depends ON CPU but +.05 Volts above Default) CPU VID Control: 1.55 (Depends ON CPU but +.05 Volts above Default) CPU VID Special Control: Auto Chipset Voltage Control: 1.6 DRAM Voltage Control: 2.7 All other settings are motherboards defaults Then please test them one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and let’s make sure it's not some other issue! I would run the test for at least 2-3 passes to be sure!
Extremestuff
My CPU is AMD Athlon64 FX-57, I believe its voltage is 1.40 and multiplier is 14 Genie BIOS/DRAM Configuration DRAM Frequency Set: 2:1 or 400MHz or 200 (if option are 133/166/200) There's no 2:1, so I set it to 1:1 200 CPU/FSB Frequency ratio: 1-1 / DDR400 Isn't this the CPU multiplier options? because it has values from 4.0X to 25.0x with .5 increasments, It's set to Auto, (CPU is FX-57 so that means 14?) CPU VID Start Up Value: 1.55 (Depends ON CPU but +.05 Volts above Default) I think my FX-57 default voltage is 1.40 so set it to 1.450 or 1.425? CPU VID Control: 1.55 (Depends ON CPU but +.05 Volts above Default) I'll set it to 1.450 and try Memtest+ once you reply to this post Thanks
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 27, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 27, 2006 "There's no 2:1, so I set it to 1:1 200" What are the options in your Bios? If its 133/166/200 then you set it to 200 If its 200/333/400 then its 400 And the other settings should be fine!
