Dade22 Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 I have been working with the k8t neo board for a while. I had it set for cas 2.5 for a while then after a reinstall of windows xp and a bios reset, I have not been able to change the memory settings at all. I have tried to change them to the highest performance settings I can but its like they wont register within the bios. I can change them...but it does no good. I have saved them when I exit but upon reboot and a quick check of CPU Z the timings are back the cas 3, ras to cas 3, ras to precharge 3 and tras 8. I have even tried to get an unstable response but have failed! Any ideas would be nice....Im so tired of this board! Thanks
Wired Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 when you are checking the timings in cpu-z, what tab are you looking under?
Dade22 Posted September 20, 2006 Author Posted September 20, 2006 I am using the Memory tab....besides upon boot the preboot shows that its only running in cas 3.
Dade22 Posted September 20, 2006 Author Posted September 20, 2006 I guess I should say I am using the corsair twinx1024 (512x2) C2. I have never had this problem before with any other mobo or memory. ....a strange mistory!!!
Wired Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 Try this: CAS Latency (tCL): 2 RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3 Row Precharge (tRP): 3 Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 6 Memory Voltage: 2.7-2.8 Volts (Warrantied up to, but not over, 2.90 volts) All other settings to defaults. Dade22 Posted September 23, 2006 Author Posted September 23, 2006 Had to reflash bios to 2.0 so the memory timings would take effect. Dont know why but it works now with 2.0 bios.
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted September 25, 2006 Corsair Employee Posted September 25, 2006 With MSI you have to load performance defaults and then you can set the memory timings to Cas 2.0!
