paulkemp Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 Hello, I have a ga-965p-ds4 F6 bios and 2GB of TWIN2X2048-6400 memory set to 1.9v. I have a similar issue. The memory passes memtest86 and works ok until stressed (game or video transcoding) when it locks up. After a re-boot it will work indefinitely until the machine is powered off. When it is re-started I the problem recurs. Any suggestions ? Thanks.
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted November 10, 2006 Corsair Employee Posted November 10, 2006 Try the Voltag set to 2.1 Volts or +.3 Volts! And if you have a setting called ‘Write to Precharge delay’ in the BIOS (same page as for latencies) please try and set it .from default 10 to 15
paulkemp Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 Try the Voltag set to 2.1 Volts or +.3 Volts! And if you have a setting called ‘Write to Precharge delay’ in the BIOS (same page as for latencies) please try and set it .from default 10 to 15 The voltage makes no difference and I can't change precharge delay. I ran one DIMM for 2 weeks with no problems. I replaced it with the other, same slot, same settings and within 30 mins of restarting the PC locked up. Memtest86 and the Microsoft memory test both report the memory ok. After rebooting the PC is fine until it is powered off. Next day within 30 mins of startup it freezes again.
Yellowbeard Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 Can you try Memtest again with the timings manually set on the memory to 5,5,,5,15 and the voltage at 2.1v. Test each DIMM individually for 5-10 passes each.
falco Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 I also have the Gigabyte GA965P -DS4 motherboard and can run one stick of memory for days without problems, but if I install two sticks of memory, I get spontaneous reboots after a couple of hours. I have tried two different brands of RAM and EXACTLY the same thing happens. I think this motherboard has some serious issues.

If it does not help, I'd suggest an RMA on the MOBO.
