Thor Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Ok, i just want to know if this is a bad or good. I just got my HX620 from Zipzoomfly. Before I put it n my MB I test it everything look good but I hear a loud clicking noise coming out of the power suppy. Nothing is near the fan. The paperclip is in the green and black. But when I plug it in the MB and the HD the clicking noise was not as loud but u can hear noise if you put your ear near the power supply. So did I get a bad Power Supply.

The clicking noise is a piece of hardware inside that prevents the power supply from powering on fully if there isn't a significant load on the +12V rails. If you plug it into a motherboard and a few hard drives it will work fine.

I guess that good to hear, now I dont have to send it back to get a repalcement. Thank you Power Guy

OK i connect everything on dont hear that loud clicking noise but you can hear little buzzing noise if you put your ear near the power supply but when your far away from it you can't hear it. So is that good. Or should I just wait and see if it get louder. Cause I had a power supply that did that to me before but the bussing noise was louder than this one and sometime it wouldn't turn on the computer or maybe nothing is wrong with it. I'll just keep it for awhile and see. If it dose i'll just RMA it back to zipzoomfly.com or to you guys.
Wired Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 probably just a normal capacitor buzz, after all, you're not supposed to put your ear to the PSU during normal use :)
