gonesurfin Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 The post you never want to start... Well, a few days ago I noticed that my CD and DVD drive doors wouldn't open, and today noticed coolant leaking into them (they are directly below the resevoir for my COOL system.) So, I pulled everything out and noticed that there is a crack in the resevoir where the black plug screws into...thus the leak!!! How can I get a replacement resevoir ?!? guy with PC spread out all over his desk in pieces...
JonKrmr Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 Order the Swiftech MCRES-MICRO res (see pic). It does not use tapered fitings and thus is not prone to the res fitting holes cracking due to stress from the tapered fitting. It is about $14.95 us and you can find it at any good etailer that carries water cooling stuff. Don't get me wrong, the Corair COOL kit is an awsome water cooling kit but the res they use is prone to this type of cracking/leaking just like the same res Danger Den and the others use. Thay are all made by the same company and just have different logos embossed on them (Corair, Danger Den etc.). The new res you will get from Corsair under warranty will eventually do the same thing. Good luck.

gonesurfin Posted September 21, 2006 Author Posted September 21, 2006 Thanks Jonkrmr....I checked out those reservoirs and they make sense...unfortunately everyone seems to be out of stock...I'll keep trying and thanks again. In the meantime RMA'ed it back to our friends at Corsair... Peter
JonKrmr Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 I know, i'm trying to get one myself. I think its because Swiftech is now including the new mounting brackets with the res as of 9-01-06. Before, you had to buy the mounting bracket kit seperatly. You can always try Swiftech directly. http://www.swiftnets.com
