ajnk
Hope you guys can help ! I have an MSI-S271 laptop - I had it upgraded to 2x1Gb memory using VS1GSDS667D2 however the system is really unstable under both Windows and Linux. I have a call open with MSI - they are asking for the detail of the memory chips on the SO-DIMM modules with a view to fixing the stability issue in a future BIOS revision - is this information something the RAM guy can provide. I would just crack open the back of the notebook to look at the modules, but MSI did the upgrade and its warranty sealed :-( BTW. I bought the modules before any 'machine matched' modules were listed. Regards AJNK
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 18, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 18, 2006 Please test the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org to be sure one is not failing.
ajnk
Ram Guy, I was unable to test the SODIMM modules seperately, as the unit is warranty sealed, however I was able to run memtest for half a day without errors. Is is possible to find out the details of the chips on the SODIMMS as this is what MSI are asking me for, however I can't open to the laptop to look as it is warranty sealed.
