Hope you guys can help !

I have an MSI-S271 laptop - I had it upgraded to 2x1Gb memory using VS1GSDS667D2 however the system is really unstable under both Windows and Linux. I have a call open with MSI - they are asking for the detail of the memory chips on the SO-DIMM modules with a view to fixing the stability issue in a future BIOS revision - is this information something the RAM guy can provide.

I would just crack open the back of the notebook to look at the modules, but MSI did the upgrade and its warranty sealed :-(

BTW. I bought the modules before any 'machine matched' modules were listed.

Ram Guy,

I was unable to test the SODIMM modules seperately, as the unit is warranty sealed, however I was able to run memtest for half a day without errors.

Is is possible to find out the details of the chips on the SODIMMS as this is what MSI are asking me for, however I can't open to the laptop to look as it is warranty sealed.

Regards
