mbowen89 Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 My CORSAIR 2GB Secure Digital (SD) Flash Media Model CMFSD133-2GB from Newegg ( http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16820233021 ) is starting to break. On the bottom where the contacts are, theres is a small piece of plastic between each one that aligns it I guess. Some of these are already starting to break off, or bend. I have even been VERY careful when inserting the card into things. I don't even take it out much... Is this covered by Newegg, Corsair, or who? Is this fixable or will I have to get a new card? Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks.
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted September 14, 2006 Corsair Employee Posted September 14, 2006 Let's get it replaced. Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part! Or *New* Tech Support Express” and we will be happy to replace them or it, please note that you are posting from the forum!
mbowen89 Posted September 15, 2006 Author Posted September 15, 2006 Ok, I will do that. But, should I wait until it completely breaks before I send it in? Do I need to send it in and then they send me a new one? If that is the case, I might buy another one to use in the meantime. I read that they will test it to see if it works, and if it does they will just send it back, but in this case they will just replace it? Can I send the SD card in its little case in a plain envelope through the mail?
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted September 15, 2006 Corsair Employee Posted September 15, 2006 NO lets get it replaced ASAP!
mbowen89 Posted September 15, 2006 Author Posted September 15, 2006 Ok, I will. But can I send in a regular envelope, or do I have to send UPS or something?
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted September 15, 2006 Corsair Employee Posted September 15, 2006 You should use the plastic package/holder it came in to protect it. If it gets damaged in the mail they will not replace it. If you dont have it I would use a small box to protect the card.
Nat Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 Hello, I got my 2gb card back from RMA about a month ago, I have the exact same problem as stated in the post above, the little plastic separators are starting to break. I assume that was the problem for the first card I sent in but did not notice. Would it be possible to get a replacement ? I also noticed that the plastic separators from other cards that I have seems more thick, I hope this is not a general problem with every corsair card. Thank you very much, Nathanaël
