Deza Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 Ever since I build my computer I've noticed I get CRC-errors at random times. Errors appear when adding with WinRAR and using Daemon-Tools to install. With WinRAR I sometimes can add files 10 times without problems, then I get CRC-errors the next 10 times, and then it work again a few times. I tested my RAMs with Memtest86+ and Windows Memory Diagnostic and found out that it was one of the modules that caused all the errors. (Legacy USB Support is DISABLED) Tested using only the GOOD module, and it worked OK, no errors! My settings: *=Default value DDR VCORE = 2.80V Memory CLK = 216MHz Tcl = 2.0 Trcd = 3 CLK Tras= 6 CLK Trp = 2 CLK *Trrd = 3 CLK *Trc = 10 CLK *Trfc = 15 CLK *Trwt = 1 CLK *Read Preamble = 6.0ns *Asynchronous Latency = 6 ns I changed my settings after I noticed the problem (when I started using the forum). Anyhow the RAMs should have worked from the beginning, with default MB settings, right? Do I have a bad part?
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted September 13, 2006 Corsair Employee Posted September 13, 2006 The memory Clock should be set to DDR400 200 MHz!
Deza Posted September 14, 2006 Author Posted September 14, 2006 ...So I'm back on 200MHz, and I've tested the modules individually again. Done it more than 10 times now, with the same results. The GOOD module again tested with 0 errors after 1 pass, I have tested it overnight before with 0 errors. The BAD? module failed tests 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7, with a total of 341 errors Most errors where on test 6, 152 errors! I can run my computer problem-free if I only use the GOOD module, but as soon I add the other I get CRC-errors. My computer is otherwise stable, haven't had a blue-screen or crash yet. I get CRC-errors when downloading install files like Nero and 3DMark from the internet to... I've tried downloading 3DMark from 5 different servers, but every time it installs it say's the file is corrupt!
Deza Posted September 14, 2006 Author Posted September 14, 2006 ...and shouldn't I be able to run these RAMs at 433MHz, since they are labeled 437MHz? But that's not really the issue right now!
