Greetings,

On 4/29/2005 I purchased 2x1GB TWINX2048-3200PRO sticks of memory from Newegg. Within a couple weeks one stick went bad (the computer wouldn't post and I took the machine to Intrex and they confirmed that one of the sticks was bad. Since Newegg wouldn't allow me to send back only 1 stick from the pair and I didn't want to be without the use of my machine while I waited for replacement ram to arrive I decided to operate with only 1GB of ram. Well this past week my machine again refused to post and once again Intrex confirmed that the 2nd memory stick had errors. They can get the machine to boot so it appears to be intermittent but they verified the memory errors on 3 different motherboards.

I want to confirm that these sticks are under warranty and get an RMA approval # so I can submit the RMA.

If you'd like to talk with the tech at Intex their number is: 919-468-1903.

My name is Greg Bradburn.

I'm confused as to why this would be a tech support issue. I've already taken the machine to a local service center and they have confirmed that both memory sticks are bad.

I would think the next step would be for you to issue me an RMA # so I can return the memory for a replacement.

All of our modules are tested on a MB at the tested settings before they leave our factory so it would be impossible that you got two bad modules from us. And if the store you took them to is not familiar with our modules they may not have set them properly. Again please call our Tech support and we will do our best to help you solve the problem.

Okay, I will call but just to clarify:

The first module went bad within a couple weeks after my system was up and running. Rather than be dead-in-the-water while waiting on my replacement ram I just decided to work with 1GB. Now, almost a year later, the 2nd stick is exhibiting errors. This is NOT impossible. In fact, if they're from the same lot, which is likely, it's no only possible but probable.

These sticks were tested on multiple motherboards known to be good and the memory was isolated as the problem.

The Intrex service center is indeed familiar with your product and they were ones to tell me of the lifetime warranty.

Since I've already included the link to their web site as well as their phone number I will not repeat it here but if you feel compelled to speak with their tech to see exactly how he tested the memory and determined it was bad you are welcome to do so.
