Indread
I recently purchased memory from newegg, I ordered 2 sticks of cm2x1024 - 6400 only to find out that CPU-Z shows that I have 2 different sticks of ram all together. The stickers on the ram heat shields both show 6400 so Im curious as to why ive got a cm2x1024 - 8500 with EPP in bank 2 and a cm2x1024-6500 without EPP in bank 1... Thanks in advance. Wired
Did you buy TWO sticks, or ONE TwinX pack?
Indread
TWO sticks from newegg should still be the same stick should it not ordered them at the same time? They advertise 6400 on the heatsink should I put those pictures up aswell? I wonder if this has happend to anyone else I called newegg and they said I can RMA it. Wired
Just because you ordered 2 sticks at the same time doesn't mean they're matched, will be the same, or even use the same IC, hence why TwinX packs are sold. What's the version # / lot # of each stick? How To Read the Memory Label
Indread
Yea Ive seen similar guides to reading memory. Shouldnt have to order a twinx pack 2 get 2 sticks of the same SPEED memory. They was both labled on the HEATSINK as 6400 but one just had the 6400 heatsink sticker thus it was a mistake when the ram was made. No worries newegg is gonna RMA the wrong stick and send me another 6400.
