peran76 Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Hi, I just bought a new computer system and everything is just fine except that my Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400C4 memory is recognized as running at 533 MHz. When I changed the settings to 800 MHz and 2.1V (4-4-4-12) as instructed in the memory documentation my computer does not POST. Just a black screen, no beeping or anything. What should I do, do I have faulty memory sticks or what can it be? Hardware used: --------------- MSI 975X Platinum PowerUP Ed., 7.1 Bios Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400C4 Sapphire Radeon X1900XTX Toxic + latest drivers Seasonic M12 600W Best Regards Perry
Yellowbeard Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Test your your DIMMs individually with Memtest for 3-5 passes each at the settings your system will run. Also, you should raise your memory voltage to 2.1v if the MSI bios will allow. Just don't go over 2.1v as that is the warrantied voltage. You may also want to take a look at the MSI forums as the problem may not be memory related. When you set the system to run the memory at 800mhz, what speed is the CPU running. Please list all your bios settings that related to CPU, RAM, and voltages. Mike.
