dracoonpit
Hi guys! I have two TWINX Kits here at the moment - both TWINX1024C2PROv4.1. The problem: The Board won't show the post-screen if ram-timings are set to AUTO. If I set them manually to 133 or 200MHz (non DDR, by using an older PC266 stick and then change the rams before the next boot), the ram seems to work fine. But If I set CL3 in BIOS (this is the jedec value) the pc won't boot - even with 133MHz. Manual set to 166 non DDR causes the pc to hang (?). I did not yet use both kits at the same time. But the error occcurs with both kits and also only with a single stick. The latest 1013 BIOS is installed. So is this a ram-thing or IC-thing or incompatibility-one? I'm out of ideas... Thanks in advance for help!
Wired
Ok, happens with both pairs when run by themselves, and each one has a bad stick? That's very odd. I'm guessing a bad slot on the motherboard. Test each stick in multiple slots.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 14, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 14, 2006 I would load the latest Bios and then load setup defaults and test the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org. If they all run one up, its probably not the memory.
dracoonpit
Hi, I tried and tried... no use. Finally I could return the Rams to the seller - so its not my problem any more. But just for your and others information: - I tested with the latest (1013) and the 1010 BIOS (which is known to be the best for this board) - my boards ram-slots are fine - checked them with other rams - PC did not boot with BIOS-Timings set to AUTO - have had other PC400+ 1GB Kits running without problems before Thanks for your help, wired and RamGuy! Great support you serve here! ;) best regards from Germany dracoonpit
