My TWINX1024-3200LLPT not up to spec

Today I wanted to install my old TWINX1024-3200LLPT set next to my TWINX2048-3500LLPRO set in an Asus A8N-SLI Premium board with bios 1009.

Unfortunately I was not able to get this combination working. I tried loads of latency and frequency settings. I know it is ill advised to run different sets together, but at relaxed timings they should be able to work together, or am I wrong there?

When trying to use the TWINX1024-3200LLPT set only, I found out I was unable to use the modules at their rated spec. I had to lower the memory frequency to DDR333 for the modules to get them to work without bluescreening me all the time.

I think one or both of the modules are faulty.

Should I send them in for RMA?

They are not compatible with each other.

Test one stick at a time in each slot using Memtest86+ v1.65.

Try these settings:

CAS Latency (tCL): 2

RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3

Row Precharge (tRP): 2

Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 6

Memory Voltage: 2.7-2.8 Volts (Warrantied up to, but not over, 2.90 volts)

All other settings to defaults.
