Corsair Flash Disk Problem - Driver?

Recommended Posts

I'm running WINDOWS 2000.

I had a Corsair 512MB Flash Voyager (rubber) that went bad.

I bought a new Corsair 512MB USB Flash (smaller hard black case).

When I inserted into the USB 2.0 port it appeared to install normally using the "Corsair USB FlashVoyager" device driver.

I used WINDOWS EXPLORER to first create a folder, then copied 6 files into the folder totaling about 30MB. The folder appeared with the files normally so I unpluged the port using the normal procedure ... pulled-out the flash drive .... then reinserted it again.

When I looked, the new folder was there but none of the files.

Now, whenever I attempt to add any files, it appears to work but when I unplug ... replug the device, the files are gone. I downwloaded ezrecover but when I execute, it dosn't recognize the device.

Is there a different driver for this flash drive? Any suggestions?

Have you tried 'Safe removal of hardware' before unplugging the usb key after adding files?

The default behaviour of Windows 2000 is different to Windows XP; Windows 2000 caches some stuff which makes it necessary to tell Windows when to flush the cache. If you remove the usb key without safe removal, not all files are saved.

Maybe you don't need a new key after all
