Intel Core 2 Duo + Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400C3?

Recommended Posts

I will buy a Intel Core 2 Duo E6700... but before I can do this, I need to figure out what memories to buy. I want to buy a pair of corsairs, because my previous experience with Corsair has been flawless.

I've checked these out, and them seem great:

Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400C3 XMS2-6400 3-4-3-9 Xtreme 2x1024Mb (tot. 2048Mb) DDR2 PC6400 800MHz with Heatsink

I suppose those work very well? but I also wonder, is there a cheaper version with not too much of a performance gap? tips please...

and yeah, I plan to overclock just a small bit..

Edit: the site I plan to order from got these in stock:

Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400C3 XMS2-6400 3-4-3-9 Xtreme 2x1024Mb

Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400PRO XMS2-6400 2x1024Mb (tot. 2048Mb)

Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400C4 XMS2-6400 4-4-4-12 Xtreme 2x1024Mb

Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400C3 XMS2-6400 5-5-5-12 Xtreme 2x1024Mb

Well just so you know that the 6400C3's are not available anywhere until Corsair ships more out. Supposedly on 09-01-06. I have an Asus P5W DH and I decided on the 6400C4's since they were the only high performance DIMMs in stock at the retailers warehouse. I did have other choices for less graded DIMMs but they weren't as robust for the kind of system I have put together. Good luck.
