sfaizanh
Finaly after 6 months the issue of my RAM is solved. Now P4N diamond Rocks with Corsair Twin2x1024A-5400UL module Q: With only one stick memory, system works fine. However, when I plug the other memory to the MB to run dual channel, blackscreen or system freezes randomly. (Or I plug 4 sticks memory, system could not boot up.) How to deal with it? A: First guarantee these memory are identical, for different spec memory working together easily causes issues. If it is guaranteed, please currently use only one memory to boot system up, then enter BIOS to set as the following. For K8N Diamond: Cell Menu-->DRAM Configuration Timing Mode-->Manual; CAS# Latency-->3; User Config Mode-->Manual; 1T/2T Memory Timing-->2T; For P4N Diamond: Memory Timings-->Manual; CAS Latency-->5/6; Address Mode-->2T; Then Save&exit setup; Shut down PC, and plug other memory to the MB to verify http://diamondclub.msi.com.tw/eng/forum/viewthread.php?tid=1242&sid=cLfrA0 Module Timings 6-6-5-16 2T at 1.95V
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted August 17, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 17, 2006 The tested settings should be: AI Over Clock Tuner: Manual PCI Express Freq: Auto PCI Freq: 33.33 Performance Mode: Standard DRAM Timing Selectable: Manual SDRAM CAS Latency: 3T SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3T (Revised 6/27/2005) SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 2T SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 8T SDRAM Write Recovery Time: 4 DDR2 SDRAM Voltage: 2.1 Chipset Core Voltage: 1.7 Volts All other settings are motherboard defaults. Maximum DDR2 recommended VDIMM: 2.1 Volts But only with one set with two sets I would relax the timings more if its not stable.
