Faulty TWINX2048-3200PT

Recommended Posts

Hi Ramguy,

Hope you can help/advise with this one?

I purchased a set of TWINX2048-3200PT in April 2006, everything was working fine until recently when my system started crashing with BSOD.

I am running Windows XP Pro sp2 on an Asus A8V Deluxe Mobo with the latest BIOS installed, all memory settings are set to Auto in BIOS. The system is not and never has been overclocked.

I went thru the usual tests swapping everything out etc and turns out that one of the modules has gone bad. As already said i have been using these modules in this sytem since i purchased them in April with no problems at all.Removing one of the modules cured the problem.

I have completed the online RMA request form, but have noticed that the retailer i purchased the memory from is not on the Corsair approved retaillers list, will this invalidate the warranty ?

Yours hopefully

Frank

Hi Ram Guy,

RMA was approved and given the case number R144135.

The memory was shipped from the UK on 18th Aug using International signed for delivery.

Should i expect to receive notification when RMA Dept receive the memory and also when they dispatch the replacement modules?

Thanks very much for your help,

Regards

Frank
