Deltadog
I've just put together an ASUS P5B (plain jane) w/ Intel Core-2 Duo E6400, and some very price friendly TWIN2X2048-6400C4. Updated to Bios 0211 dated 7/14/2006. With all settings set to auto the machine operates just fine in single channel mode filling DIMM slots A1 & A2. However, machine won't post with slots A1 and B1 filled to try dual channel. Suggestions? Also there appears to be no way to manually set, or even view, SDRAM settings with AI Over Clock Tuner set to manual. Am I just SOL with the low end P5B board? Thanks for any help,
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted August 16, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 16, 2006 I would check for the latest beta bios and see if the system will post in Dual channel, if it still wont pist its either a bad MB or PSU problem. Deltadog
Ram Guy, As luck would have it there's a new 0309 Bios out today. Can you offer advice for settings? Other than default AUTO settings? ASUS P5B, Intel Core-2 Duo E6400, TWIN2X2048-6400C4. I have no wish to overclock but would like to hit DDR2-800 up from the DDR2-667 limitation by default mentioned on 2-14 of the manual (and hopefully overcome with this BIOS update).
