Machival
I bought 2 XMS 1gig modules for a system I built. As soon as I got it up and running, I was dealing with problems that I initially thought were motherboard issues with defective DIMM slots. The ram lasted about a week while I was testing various things to see if I could isolate the problem. As of right now, neither modules will light up and self test when I power the system up, and the monitor sits in sleep mode as if I had done nothing. Heres a link for the exact product I purchsed, and where I purchased them from: http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16820145504
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted August 11, 2006 Corsair Employee Share Posted August 11, 2006 I really doubt its the modules, but please reset the bios and test them one at a time. If you still get no post with either module I would suggest testing them in another system.
Machival
I dont have another system here that has 198 pin Dimm slots. I did however, purchase a new motherboard to see if that was the problem. After testing them 1 at a time, one of them doesnt light up at all, and the second one will have one center LED light up, but then it will not light up the full range of LEDs like it used to for the memory check after the system is powered on.
