Schneidas
Hello there, quick question: I'm running an AMD64 4000+ with Asus A8V Deluxe M/B and Corsair memory TwinX 2048C2 with 2-3-3-6 1T timings (dual channel). Running perfectly stable and reliable for 10 months now. I want to increase the memory however. Can I buy a TwinX 1024C2 kit (2x512MB) (found a good deal on that) and still maintain the same 2-3-3-6 1T timings? Will that be compatible or am I to expect problems (maybe since I'm mixing 2 x1024 modules with 2 x 512MB modules). I can still run dual channel with 4 different modules, right? Or isn't it recommended to mix different-sized modules? Thanks
Schneidas
Oh yeah, another info that may be rqeuired: AMD64 4000+ is a "San Diego" core - SH-E4 stepping. Thanks
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted August 10, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 10, 2006 NO I am sorry you should not mix memory with this platform. All of the modules would need to be exactly matched or it may not post. In addition with the CPU you have you would be forced to run at DDR333 with more than 2 double modules installed.
