Two CMX512-3200C2 RAM sticks faulty

Recommended Posts

I have just recently been getting numerous BSOD's, so i ran memtest and i had tons of errors on this RAM, I took out 2 other 512 sticks out of another computer of mine and put them in and tested them and there were no errors what so ever. Also when i tried to test the faulty modules individually i couldnt even get my computer to boot up.This is the second time I have had to contact corsair and get replacement modules, of the same type pf RAM, and it is very frustrating.

Can you tell me the make and model of MB you have along with the CPU speed and it’s FSB as well? In addition, please tell me the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set?

I have an Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe, I have an AMD Athlon64 3500+ at 2.21 GHz.

Not sure what my bus speed is at, the processor itself is capable of 2000MHz, is there a way i can find out what its set to? my settings in the BIOS for CPU are all on Auto, my Memory settings are CAS = 2.5, RAS to CAS delay = 3, RAS precharge = 3, Min RAS# active time = 6... I dont have any performance settings set. Everything is pretty much at default

Please load setup/optimized defaults and then set the Dim Voltage to 2.7X volts (+.2 Volts W/Giga-Byte) and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, XMS2700C2 Cass 2-3-3-6 for example or if you have Value Select "BY SPD" and then test the module/'s one at a time with http://www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure.
