gcordova
thanks for the reply, but is P5N32-SLI Deluxe the same motherboard as the P5N32-SLI SE Deluxe. I think that P5N32-SLI Deluxe does not support the new Intel Core2 duo (x6800). Thanks.
Wolf6sisna.com
They are NOT exactly the same MBs...SE supports Conroe and native DDR2-800 RAM. Actually, it is the same basic MB with tweaks for the Conroe and DDR2-800 RAM.
gcordova
Any update on recommended Crosair memory for this motherboard yet?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted August 15, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 15, 2006 I would suggest Twinx2048-5400C4 for these MB's
gcordova
Thanks for the reply Ram Guy, could you tell me if I can use instead the TWIN2X2048-8500C5*¹ memory? I want to run at 1066MHz or at the least 800MHZ My CPU will be the Intel X6800 - 2.93GHZ 2Gigs of ram (two modules) No overclocking - for now
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted August 16, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 16, 2006 That MB might get to 800 Mhz on the memory but you have to over clock. But I doubt it will reach 1066. I would suggest Twin2x2048-6400C3 instead.
RichSimon
I'm building my first computer. I have the P5N32-SLI SE Deluxe and an Intel X6800. I also bought CORSAIR TWIN2X2048-6400PRO, believing that this mobo supported DDR2 800, since Asus's web site says it does: http://www.asus.com/products4.aspx?modelmenu=2&model=1280&l1=3&l2=11&l3=0 However, I'm looking at the manual, and it only mentions DDR2 667 and 533. I've also seen an entry in another forum by someone who said that their Corsair DDR2 800 memory did not work in this mobo, and that Asus tech support said it was not supported. So, I'm confused. Some places say DDR2 800 is supported (Asus's web site) and some places say it isn't. I'd liek to know before I start putting the pieces together. Can I use the DDR2 800 I have? Do I have to tweak anything to get it to work? I should I exchange it for DDR2 667 or 533 (and which one)? Thanks for helping, -Rich:confused:
RichSimon
Just thought I'd add that I double checked a bunch of sites selling this mobo (Newegg, etc.) and they also say that DDR2 800 is supported. So, why does the manual not mention it? -Rich (still  )
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted August 17, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 17, 2006 You will have to over clock to get to 800 Mhz and it does not matter whos module you use. ASUS has tested the MB with our modules but the chipset does not officially support 800 Mhz memory.
gcordova
Hey Ram Guy, Is Twin2x2048-8500 backward compatible to 6400 version(to get FSB 800MHz)? Just in case the Twin2x2048-8500 doesn't work at FSB 1066MHz, I can use the Twin2x2048-8500 with a lower FSB,- 800MHz. Asus might fix the problem down the road and I don't have to replace the memory to get 1066Mhz(FSB). If the 1066MHz problem does exist with this motherboard. Thx for ur help. gcordova
Could you please tell me if the "Twin2x2048-8500 backward compatible to the 6400 speed"? yes or no. I am guessing yes. Has Corsair tested the P5N32 sli se deluxe? Thanks.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted August 23, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 23, 2006 Yes the SPD is set the DDR2-800 JEDEC values. And yes we have tested them in that MB. But this MB will not be able to run at 8500 settings. I would suggest using Twin2x2048-6400C3 instead.
Phenomsk
Will you be able to use TWIN2X2048-6400 normally. Will it require overclocking or nething like that. Or can i just put it in and it work. gcordova
RamGuy: I really want the Twin2x2048-6400C3 when it's in stock, so for the time being I can get TWIN2X1024-5400C4 (for about $140.00)to hold me over. Will this work on this motherboard? Thanks.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 18, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 18, 2006 Yes they will work and or VS2GBKit667D2 will work as well.
thearod
I have an Intel x6700 w/ P5N32-SLI SE Deluxe and am unable to get TWIN2X2048-6400C4 working with the system. One in set at 800Mhz works fine... but you put the second in and you have to clock it down to 667 and then its only about 80% stable. So I just took my second DIMM out until Asus decides they are going to fix this piece of crap
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 22, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 22, 2006 What do you have the memory Voltage set to? I would suggest 2.1 Volts at DDR2-667 at Cas 4-4-4-12! Also I would consider a biger PSU as well if you can!
