ramdabom
Hi folks -- would appreciate help here. Have toiled countless hours and need some sunlight! Here are the key components: 1. ASUS m2n32-sli deluxe 2. AMD Athlon 4600+ AM2 dual-core processor 3. 4GB memory - CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Unbuffered Dual Channel Kit System Memory Model TWIN2X2048-6400 I was able to setup the system and install OS and other applications. Then I updated the BIOS from version 504 to 603 using ASUS flash utility. After this my system will not post. Specifically, If I flip the power switch on the back the fans will rev for about 6 seconds and then go off. But then when I push the power switch on the front nothing happens -- no fan whirring, post, boot, etc. I have changed connectors, CPU fans, used only 1 memory chip in slot closest to CPU, etc. It seems that the Bios upgrade screwed up the system. Is there a way to reverse the bios upgrade, or somehow get the system to post so I can change some BIOS settings?
Yellowbeard
Have you actually reset the CMOS jumper after the flash? If not, try that and then try posting with only 1 DIMM again. Mike .
ramdabom
I reset the CMOS (pulled out the battery, jumper). Still no juice. Any other ideas?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted July 28, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted July 28, 2006 Have you tried one module at a time? If so and it still wont post the flash may have failed and I would suggest contacting the MB maker!
ramdabom
Yes, I have tried booting with one memory module at a time. Still nothing. I contacted the Asus and they are sending me the older 504 bios. I have a feeling that it still won't work, we shall see.
