bsdude010
Good evening. I currently have TWINX1024-3200C2PT in my Asus K8V SE Deluxe. It works wonderfuly. It has a CAS Latency of 2, timing 2-3-3-6 For upgradability purposes, I am concidering purchasing CMX1024-3200. This way whenever I want to upgrade to 2gig of memory, just install another module. This module has a CAS Latency of 3, timing 3-3-3-8. I am especialy considering this exact part number because of a mail in rebate special. My question is, how much slower are we talking due to the CAS Latency and the Timing? Will I see a significant differnce? Thank you.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted July 27, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted July 27, 2006 First thing you cannot mix memory with this MB, if you want to go to 2.0 Gig of memory I would suggest replacing what you have now with Twinx2048-3200C2 for best performance. Sorry!
bsdude010
well yes, I know that. I am not adding to the MB, I am replacing the memory. I just want to know exactly how much will I be downgrading?
Wired
you'll probably see an increase in performance, as doubling your memory available will negate the small difference in cas speeds. Could always get TwinX2048-3200C2 though :)
