WALKR
Hi Question: Just bought 2048 gb of corsair xms ddr 400 for a pc3200. I also have original ram 2x 512=1024 of corsair value select that was set for 2.5-3-3-8. The new ram will not work with the older ram. Get a memeroy error in bios. When it does reboot it resets the value to original value for value select. But it is unstable. My question is there a setting i can use both rams in my computer to make total of 3gigs. and be good for online gaming. Or am i bettr off dumping the value select and just running the new xms? Originaly tried the new ram in the slots 2 and 4 and value in 1 and 3 didnt work. System beeps. Removed the value and replaced new in 1 and 3 works. Would be nice to have both running in for the total 3gigs. Any feed back be appreciated. For i am a noob to the insides of case. Thanks for any responses. Wired
Reset the BIOS, use these settings, you'll be all set to go. BTW, what game? CAS Latency (tCL): 2 RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3 Row Precharge (tRP): 3 Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 6 Command Rate: Memory Voltage: 2.7-2.8 Volts (Warrantied up to, but not over, 2.90 volts) All other settings to defaults.
