Yellowbeard
If you are not OCing, just find the spex for your memory and set the bios accordingly: http://www.houseofhelp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33977 Then, raise the RAM voltage to 2.1v and you should be good to go. cradleofphil
My board has way more and different options in it's BIOS so I am a bit lost as to how to get the settings changed to what I need by trying to follow this: Testing parameters for Twinx/XMS2-6400: Twin2x1024A-6400 Data Sheet Twin2x2048-6400 Data Sheet Motherboard make and model: Asus P5WD2 Premium/Deluxe Each pair is tested and packaged together using the following settings: AI Over Clock Tuner: Manual CPU External Frequency: Manually set to 200MHz DDR2 SDRAM Clock: Manually set to 800MHz PCI Express Freq: Auto PCI Freq: 33.33 Performance Mode: Standard DRAM Timing Selectable: Manual SDRAM CAS Latency: 5T SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 5T SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 5T SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 12T SDRAM Write Recovery Time: 5 DDR2 SDRAM Voltage: 1.9 Chipset Core Voltage: Auto All other settings are motherboard defaults. Maximum DDR2 recommended VDIMM: 2.1 Volts If what it takes is listing every option in my bios then I will do it, I just figured you guys would have tested with the Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe Socket AM2 MOBO because it is such a popular in demand MOBO. Please let me know ASAP what info you guys need from me to help me change my bios settings to optimal for what system specs I have. Thanks much! Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted July 12, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted July 12, 2006 The settings you listed are what you should set and would be the same basic settings you need to setup your system. Exactly what are you looking for?
cradleofphil
The settings in my BIOS for my MB are MUCH different then what is listed and I cannot get my BIOS to let my ram be set at the timings that I want. Have you guys tested with M2N-SLI deluxe or do I need to list out all the BIOS options in detail? Please let me know ASAP, eager to get these timings and optimal configuration correct. Also, this is what Newegg.com puts on this rams spec sheet: # CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Unbuffered Dual Channel Kit System Memory Model TWIN2X2048-6400C4 - Retail Cas Latency: 4 Features: EPP (Enhanced Performance Profiles) and also SLI certified Heat Spreader: Yes Manufacturer Warranty: Lifetime Timing: 4-4-4-12 # Model #: TWIN2X2048-6400C4 # Item #: N82E16820145034 If this ram is Cas Latency: 4, why do you guys suggest using it with 5-5-5-12 timing settings? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted July 13, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted July 13, 2006 If this ram is Cas Latency: 4, why do you guys suggest using it with 5-5-5-12 timing settings? I dont understand your question, the tested settings are Cas 4-4-4-12 the SPD is set to JEDEC values of Cas 5-5-5-15. The tested setting need to be manually set or with the MB you have just enable SLI ready memory is all u need to do!
cradleofphil
I looked for enable SLI memory in my BIOS and there is no such option or I can't find it. The BIOS is saying the current memory settings/timings are: 800MHZ-5-5-5-18-2T These settings are DEFAULT settings nothing has been changed. Again, if you need me to type out all the options in my BIOS I will do that if that is what is necessary to get help here. Please let me know. Corsair doesn't suggest 5-5-5-12, you were looking at a different part # on the spec FAQ. 5-5-5-12 is for the 6400s, you have 6400C4s. They're not up on the FAQ yet (dunno why). http://www.corsairmemory.com/corsair/products/specs/TWIN2XP2048-6400C4.pdf Change your timings like so: SDRAM CAS Latency: 4 SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 4 SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 4 SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS):
cradleofphil
THANK YOU, for a valid response to my questions! I set these settings in my BIOS and everything seems much faster now in Win XP Pro. So I don't have to do anything else but that then? BIOS is saying 800MHZ-4-4-4-12-2T Thanks, Phil
