Possibly bad RAM?

Recommended Posts

I bought RAM from tigerdirect (module CMX512-3200C2). I was putting the computer together, hooked up the RAM, HDD...etc, Ive made numerous computers so I know how to hook everything up and havent had a problem till now. Everything was great, nothing was wrong, I was installing windows when the computer just shuts off. So I turn it back on and theres no video. Im told that this could be a possible memory problem? Im wondering if maybe the memory I bought is bad?

Please test the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and I would suggest you make sure you have the latest bios and then load setup/optimized defaults and set the memory voltage to 2.7 Volts and test them one at a time. If the system will still not post with either module please try and reset of clear your bios with the jumper to reset the bios, or test them in a known working system.
