nitro001
All, I have just upgraded my system receintly and had 1GB (2 x 512MB) of CORSAIR ValueSelect with CAS of 2.5 and Voltage of 2.5V. (VS1GBKIT400) I purchased new memory during this upgrade, CORSAIR XMS 2GB (1GB x 2) which I found had a CAS of 3-3-3-8 and a Voltage of 2.6V. (TWINX2048-3200) If possible, I would like to use both of them to get 3GB, but not sure about mixing the CAS latency and voltages (eventhough they are only .1V different). The Motherboard is an ASRock 939Dual that it will be in. Could anyone guide me on what to use? It is possible I may be able to obtain a CORSAIR XMS 1GB (2x512MB) with a CAS Latency of 2-3-3-6, not sure of voltage (TWINX1024-3200C2PT) Would that be better than the 1GB ValueSelect in there? The CAS is slightly lower, but differentiates from the 2GB more. Thanks.
Wired
It's NEVER recommended to mix memory of different part #s / version #s. Also, all XMS memory is tested @ 2.75 volts. NewEgg's wrong on the voltage listing. Source: Corsair XMS Qualification and Testing Information
