Donuts
One month ago, I purchased a matched pair of CMX1024-3200C2PT. Earlier this week, my system (running Windows XP Home)blue screened and then rebooted. After a bit of investigation I determined that it had a problem with memory. The motherboard I use is an ABIT KN8 Ultra. It has 4 memory banks available and I initially had the matched set of RAM in banks 1+2. I opened the case and move both sticks of ram to Banks 2+3, 3+4, 1+3, and 2+4 with same results. I then tested stability by using one module at a time and found one module to be rock solid in each of the 4 banks and the other module continually crashed the system. Ran MemTest on both modules with no errors in the one and over 30,000 in the other. Point 1: Given that the one stick is faulty, I would like an RMA for it. Appreciate if you would confirm and authorize that. Point 2: Given I purchased a matched pair for performance reasons. Should both sticks be sent in? Is there a way to speed this process so I don't have any downtime? Thanks. Joe
