Dabnorfish
I'm having a problem at the moment with a ASUS A8N5X motherboard and 2 sticks of Corsair Value 512 mb (matched). With one stick in, everything boots nicely. So, I tried to pop in the other, and managed to start it for a while. On restart, however, I get an error message stating that a file in \windows\system32 is missing and to fix this using the XP XD. However, if I shut down and remove one of the sticks, it works fine. The weird thing is, I can put either stick in any slot and it works fine. It's only when I have both sticks in I encounter problems. To top it all off, my copy of Oblivion arrived today... Cheers in advance for any advice.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 29, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 29, 2006 Please load setup/optimized defaults and then set the Dim Voltage to 2.7X volts (+.2 Volts W/Giga-Byte) and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, XMS2700C2 Cass 2-3-3-6 for example or if you have Value Select "BY SPD" and then test the module/'s one at a time with http://www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure.
