double-D RAM
I have a VS512MB400 module that fails memtest86. I have two identical modules. I ran the test on the first module in bay 1A (Asus P4C800E Deluxe) which ran without errors for a little over an hour. I then replaced the good module with the suspected bad one and ran the test in the same bay and in seconds the second module produced errors. I let it run for about and hour and three errors were recorded. I've read the FAQ and realize I need to post here first so here it is. I'd like to request and RMA please. Jabberwok
Before anything else, Can you tell us the bios settings that you use for cpu and memory? Also if you changed any of the performance settings be sure to tell us as this will prove to be a great help for us trust me;): .
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 26, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 26, 2006 Please load setup/optimized defaults and then set the Dim Voltage to 2.7X volts (+.2 Volts W/Giga-Byte) and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, XMS2700C2 Cass 2-3-3-6 for example or if you have Value Select "BY SPD" and then test the module/'s one at a time with http://www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. In addition, with this MB you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test. .
