pvcrisp
I have just built a new system and have problems with my memory reading its proper value. My system is: ASUS A8N-VM CSM AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Venice CORSAIR ValueSelect 1GB (2 x 512MB) - VS1GBKIT400 Western Digital Caviar SE 80GB LITE-ON Black 16X DVD-ROM When I first started the system, I noticed Windows was only reading the Memory at 960MB, and after checking the BIOS, I realized that it read the same value (960 instead of 1024). I did not see any BIOS settingy to change that might help it read the true value of the memory, so I tried changing slots and nothing was different. I have run memtest86+ and received no errors. After checking Corsair's web site, I see this memory isn't recommended for the board, but it still should read the proper value shouldn't it? Could I possible have bad memory or a bad board? Any help is appreciated. ****EDIT**** I just checked Corsair's site again and do see that this memory is listed in their Compatible Modules section. So if the Mobo and the Memory are supposed to be compatible, what might the problem be and how can I fix it?
Wired
Nothing's wrong. 1024-960 = 64 Onboard video's probably grabbing 64 MB of memory for itself.
pvcrisp
Thank you very much! I have never used a mobo with onboard graphics before.
