Fiasco
I'm having a problem with random crashes, and after reviewing these forums I think it may be an issue with my RAM. I am running an Asus p4p800e deluxe with an Intel 3.2ghz and 2 sticks of XMS memory (cmx512-3200c2). Following some advice I found in other threads I ran memtest for about 2 hours and got 10 errors in that time. Does this constitute bad memory? The problems I am having seem to be different every time, random crashes and lockups, and a couple times I seem to have had some corrupted data. Any help is appreciated. Wired
Turn off USB Legacy support when testing, also make sure the memory voltage is min 2.70 volts, max 2.90 volts
Fiasco
Well, after doing some reading in here I found that my latency was set to 3-3-3-8 so I changed my latency to 2-3-3-6 and ran memtest for about 4 hours with no erros, is it possible that was the entire problem? Wired
Shouldn't have been, but it's possible.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 20, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 20, 2006 Yes its possible and you eould need to disable legacy USB when you run any memory test with this MB. And I would set the memory Voltage to 2.75 Volts as well.
