Gfxlonghorn
I bought 2 of the ValueSelect ddr2-533 1 gig sticks about 6 months ago. Now, suddenly one of the 2 sticks has gone bad. I upgraded from my ECS 915P-A to my Abit Fatal1ty AA8XE about 1 month ago and everything had been running fine. I am not overclocking the ram, and it was installed properly. Since I am a heavy multi-tasker, I don't want to send something in that isn't broken. I have tried the memory modules, after they were broken on 2 different motherboards, and I have recently rma'd the proccesor and the motherboard is known to be good. When I start up my with my ABIT motherboard, with the 1 good memory stick, it works fine. But when I start up with both of them, I get a post error that corresponds to the memory modules. And then I get an AF error that also corresponds to the memory modules. So I would like to RMA the 1 bad stick. Thank you for any help. My problem is very similar to this guys problem: http://www.houseofhelp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=51575
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 20, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 20, 2006 Please load setup/optimized defaults and then set the Dim Voltage to 2.1 volts (+.2 Volts W/Giga-Byte) and then leave the timings set to "BY SPD" and then test the module/'s one at a time with http://www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure.
