gmontez
Hello Forum - I wanted to share an experience - I am building a system using an MSI K9Neo Ver. 1.0 (not the Platinum or SLI), an AMD Athlon64 3000 AM2 and Corsair Twin2X2048-5400C4 2GB kit. This is not a gaming system; it will be used for low to mid-quality video editing and general office-type apps. I have fought all morning getting XP to install, the process would hang at random intervals (pcmcia, dynamic volume support, scsi drivers, etc) until I changed the memory latency settings from Auto to 5-5-5-15 and the memory voltage to 1.95 at which point Setup sailed right through. The memory is rated for 4-4-4-12, but if it isnt going to be stable through setup I am not going to trust it at that timing. I have seen other users having problems with the K9Neo and various memory modules, I just wanted to share how I got around it.
