Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 15, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 15, 2006 Please look Up your system on our memory configurator and then see if the reseller will let you exchange for the correct part.
john turner
oh yikes. looks like i got the wrong ones  :(: shouldn't the faster ones work too? could that be the source of the errors i'm getting? oh man.
john turner
one thing i've noticed in the configurator is that the only memory coming up is the cms 533 memory. will the valueselect 533 ddr2 work too, or do i have to get the cms?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 15, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 15, 2006 They might but I would not suggest mixing them with the memory that came with your system.
john turner
oh, no i had no intention of doing that- i was replacing what came with it (2 x 256). still, it's good, newegg is letting me rma them, so i'll get the cms 533's. thanks for your help ramguy :). john turner
oh, one more thing - i do have room for 4 sticks. if i match the sticks slotwise, can i use different size sticks? (i.e. slots a1 and b1 having the 256 meg sticks and slots a2 and b2 having a gig stick each.) i'm not up on my intel cpus (i know this would be bad w/amd). Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 16, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 16, 2006 You just have to try it, but all of the modules should be matched both in speed grade and timings set in the SPD. I would just test the system with http://www.memtest.org to make sure its stable first
