mr. poopyhead
dear RAM guy, my 2GB twinx kit runs very hot... i can't touch it for more than about 2 seconds... i can't really determine the actual temperature, but this seems to be abnormally hot to me... are the modules being damaged this way? my settings are as corsair recommends: 2.5-3-3-6 @2.7V http://memtest.corsairmemory.com/print_report.aspx?model=MSI++K8N+Neo2+Platinum&pn=TWINX2048-3200C2PT&id=5033 not sure if the voltage is right though... at the top of the page, it says i should use 2.75V, but the bottom of the page says 2.7V... which one is it? so to summarize, i have 2 questions here... is the memory supposed to run this hot? and what is the correct voltage, 2.7 or 2.75? thanks for all your time, ramguy... Wired
they test @ 2.75, and that's what's recommended, but it can run fine @ 2.70, it's warrantied up to, but not over, 2.90 volts.

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 12, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 12, 2006 No I am saying if you think its the memory I have no problem replacing them, but it may be the PSU or the bios causing the memory to run hot.
