Grahammt
I recently ordered parts for a system build from newegg.com. Basically, upon putting the system together, I ran into hours and hours of crashes and the like and could not enter my BIOS. Finally I decided to try one stick of RAM, and my computer booted up beautifully. With the OS installed, here is what happens with RAM sticks now: (1) Good stick in approved slot for one stick, computer boots fine. (2) Bad stick in approved slot for one stick, computer will not complete POST. (3) Good stick in approved slot and bad stick in cooresponding slot, computer will get past POST, but will crash when OS tries to boot. (4) Bad stick in approved slot and good stick in stick in cooresponding slot, computer will not complete POST as in 2. Memtest86=With both stick in, I watched for about 20 minutes and decided when my error count got to 500,000+, that it was enough. With just the good one, appears to be fine. I'm certain it is a bad stick of RAM, if anyone else has the same problem please let me know how to resolve it.
