one bad module

Recommended Posts

I bought two 512MB modules of Corsair XMS Low-latency memory about 14 months ago and one has gone bad. It fails MemTest86 consistently -- I tried testing each module individually and only one of them fails. My motherboard is an DFI Lanparty UT. The RMA form requires me to post on the forum first, so that's what I'm doing.

it requires more than simply posting here if you wish to go the forum route, you must get an approval from Ram Guy as well!

quick way: http://tsxpress.corsairmemory.com

Forum way:

What CPU / FSB do you have?

What is the exact part # and revision # of each stick? Is it a TwinX pack?

How To Read the Memory Label

If you have more than one stick, have you tested one stick at a time in each slot using Memtest86+?

Please load setup/optimized defaults and then set the Dim Voltage to 2.7X volts (+.2 Volts W/Giga-Byte) and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, XMS2700C2 Cass 2-3-3-6 for example or if you have Value Select "BY SPD" and then test the module/'s one at a time with http://www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure.
