irender
I am going to upgrade the RAM in my system: Asus P5N32-SLI Deluxe motherboard P4 3.2 processor Would I be best off buying, Twin2x2048-6400 Twin2x2048-6400 Pro or Twin2x2048-6400 C4 modules Thanks in advance for your expert opinions, Matt
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 30, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 30, 2006 I would suggest Twin2x2048-5400C4 unless you plan on over clocking then got with XM2S-6400
irender
Thanks for the reply Ram Guy, I do plan on overclocking the memory, so I decided to go with the Twin2X2048-6400C4 modules. Matt

irender
Ok, I did a little overclocking and this is as far as I want to go with stock cooling. Thermaltake Big Typhoon will be here tomorrow. Asus P5n32-SLI-Deluxe P4 640 processor 3.2 overclocked to 3.59 FBS 899 Target memory speed 764 Memory 667 cas-3 trcd-3 trp-3 tras-11 trc-3 1T Ran Memtest 11:20:02/25 passes/no errors Sandra 2007 Scores-5766 5762 I noticed that Sandra 2007 scores were lower than the 2003 version when running the same tests on the same memory. Any reason for this? If any of these timings should or could be changed, please let me know. Thanks, Matt
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 6, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 6, 2006 I noticed that Sandra 2007 scores were lower than the 2003 version when running the same tests on the same memory. Any reason for this? You should ask the maker of that software! And the settings look good if the system is stable, but I would try the memory voltage set to 2.1 Volts and see if it helps your scores.
irender
I will contact SiSoft re:scores-just thought you might know. So far no crashes and voltage is set to 2.1v.

irender
With a little more cooling I am able to hit: CPU overclocked to 3.7--31C during heavy 3D rendering. target memory speed-673 FSB clock-925 memory clock-667 Timings- 3-3-3-8-3-1T Sandra-5956 5949 Memtest ran 11 hrs.//24 passes-no errors System stable. I think I may stop here.
