ajdedo
Hi, Okay, So a couple weeks ago my computer started spontaneously re-booting, and when I'd see my desktop again, I'd see the message 'System has recovered from a serious error'. I have 2 x 512 RAM. I decided to test them one at a time. I placed one chip in an unused slot and ran Memtest86+ On the first pass I received error #5. I restarted the test and it ran 24 passes error free. A few days later I tried again.... On the first pass I received error #4. I restarted the test and it ran 22 passes without an error. A few days later I tried again..... On the first pass I receive error #3, and then it ran 34 more passes error free. So I'm a bit concerned, Why would I only be receiving errors on the first pass? Does this seem like a faulty chip? Thanks, Andrew :-) SYSTEM INFO RAM - (1Gig 2x512) CMX512-3200C2 (XMS3202v2.2) Mobo - MSI 865PE Neo2-P (MS 6728 ver.2) Driver 3.A CPU - Intel 3.2 Prescott
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 15, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 15, 2006 Random or un-consistant errors like that would suggest some other problem, can you tell me the complete system configuration and the make and model of PSU you have?
