Xecutor77
I have 2 bad sticks of TWINX2048-3200C2PT The first stick will not post in my MoBo, I get an error that says "bad Checksum". Then it asks for a disk to load BIOS. The second stick seems to work okay I was able to load windows, it seems stable but when I ran memtest v3.1 on this stick I am getting errors on test 1 and 4. I have tried two different slots on my MoBo with this stick and it still fails test 1 and 4. I know I need to RMA the first stick but any ideas on the second one? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 15, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 15, 2006 You have to set the CPU frequency manually and Disable legacy USB when running any memory test with this MB. Can you tell me the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set?
Xecutor77
All my CPU settings are AUTO I am not OC'ing. I am using 2-3-3-6 @ 2.75V for the memory as per the recommended settings in the spec sheet.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 15, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 15, 2006 Please set the CPU frequency manually and Disable legacy USB then re-test the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org.
Xecutor77
So I tested the second stick with your recommended settings and it passed all tests with no errors, but the first stick is still dead. I need an RMA for the one stick.

Xecutor77
Would it be better to send both of them in since they are "matched" or does it really matter?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 16, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 16, 2006 Yes you need to submit the Request for 1-Twinx set and send both modules so they match!
