Naephus
Hi, I have a "Asus P5WD2-E Premium", and a "Corsair TwinX DDR2 PC6400 - 2x1GB Kit". My motherboard has 4 slot DDR2, 2 yellow(A1-B1), 2 black(A2-B2). For make it run in dual mod, I should put my first TwinX in the first slot (A1 - Yellow ), and my second TwinX in the third slot ( B1 - Yellow ). My motherboard's userguide say that (A1+A2) = (B1+B2) for dual mod. But it's not working. The PC don't boot. Black screen, without beep. I must put my memories in the two first slot ( A1-A2 ) for booting, but it's not working in dual mod ! Only in single mod. Why ? PS : My bios is updated. No change. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 12, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 12, 2006 They should be in slots A1 and B1 or A2 and B2 for dual channel.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 15, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 15, 2006 If the system will post with either modules one up but not when in D/C I would make sure that you have the latest bios and if so then get the MB replaced. Yellowbeard
How did you update bios if the system will not post? Will it post with a single module installed? Mike.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 20, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 20, 2006 Can you test the modules in another system to be sure?
