I ve ran memtest and i ve got a lot of errors but only on test #5. I ve tested only 1 module or 2 modules, same troubble. It causes Windows crash too. My configuration is the one bellow : -Memory : 2* Value select VS512MB400 (819-0503118-0-104305 and ****-104306) - MB: MSI K8N NEO PLATINUM - Proc : Athlon 3400+ - MSI NX6600GT VTD128 The bios version is : Phoenix v6.00PG (no update since 1 year) The setting the default settting in fact: DRAM configuration : Auto - DDR400 memory closk 200Mhz - timing: 2T - Tcl 2.5 - Trcd 3 - Tras 8 - Trp 3 High perf mode : manual Aggressive timing : Disabled Dynamics Overclocking : Disabled Spread Spectrum : Enable HT Frequency : *4 Cool 'n quiet : disabled Adjust CPU ratio : Startup Adjust CPU FSB : 200 Adjust AGP freq : 66 CPU voltage : CPU default Memory voltage : Auto AGP Voltage 1.50V I ve try different memory voltage (2.5V : 5000errors; 2.6 : 22500errors; 2.7:143350errors). Note that if i change the memory for a kingston 512, no troubble appears (no #5 errors, and no windows crash) thanks for your help.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 2, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 2, 2006 Please load setup/optimized defaults and then set the Dim Voltage to 2.7X volts and then set the timings to "BY SPD" or Auto and then test the module/'s one at a time with www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure.
