InsaniacDK
I cant get this kit stabile in my computer, when they hit around 240 mhz they start failing memtest86, 1000+ errors mainly on test5 but a few on the others too, i run them at 3-4-4-8 and 2.8v have tried 2.9 as well but same result here are the memory settings on my DFI lanparty UT sli-dr expert: CAS Latency (CL) 3T RAS To CAS Delay (tRCD) 4T RAS Precharge (tRP) 4T RAS Active Time (tRAS) 8T Row Cycle Time (tRC) 16T Row Refresh Cycle Time (tRFC) 17T Command Rate (CR) 1T RAS To RAS Delay (tRRD) 2T Write Recovery Time (tWR) 3T Read To Write Delay (tRTW) 2T Write To Read Delay (tWTR) 2T Write CAS Latency (tWCL) 1T Refresh Period (tREF) 200 MHz 15.6 us DQS Skew Control Disabled DRAM Drive Strength Weak DRAM Data Drive Strength 3 (15% Reduction) Max Async Latency 8 ns Read Preamble Time 5.5 ns Idle Cycle Limit 128 Dynamic Idle Cycle Counter Disabled Read/Write Queue Bypass 16 Bypass Max 5 32-byte Granularity Disabled i have tested the memory at 7x multi and 250 fsb = 1750 mhz so the cpu isnt even overclocked and they still fail, im beginning to wonder if i have some bad modules, or there are one of these settings the memory cant handle ? the entire system is: DFI Lanparty UT nF4 SLI-DR Expert AMD Opteron 165 CCBWE 0604 TPMW stock cooler 2 GB Corsair TWINX1024-4000PT Inno3d GForce 7900 GTX 2xWD Raptor 36gb - raid 0 on Nforce raid chip 2xWD 200 GB SATA - raid 0 on Sil raid chip 2xWD 200 GB SATA - raid 0 on Sil raid chip Antech Truepower 2.0 550W
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 1, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 1, 2006 Please make sure you have the latest BIOS installed for your MB (download the Beta version) and load optimized defaults settings, and try the following BIOS settings; Genie BIOS/DRAM Configuration DRAM Frequency Set: 2:1 or 400MHz or 200 (if option are 133/166/200) Command per Clock: Disabled/Auto SDRAM CAS Latency: 3T SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 4T SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 4T SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 8T And leave the rest at AUTO setting Genie BIOS FSB BUS Frequency: 250 LDT/FSB Frequency ratio: 3-4X LDT Bus Transfer Width: 16 16 CPU/FSB Frequency ratio: Auto PCI Ex: 100 K8 cool N’ quiet: Disable CPU VID Start Up Value: 1.55 (Depends On CPU) CPU VID Control: 1.55 (Depends On CPU) CPU VID Special Control: Auto Chipset Voltage Control: 1.6 DRAM Voltage Control: 2.8 All other settings are motherboards defaults Then please test them one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and let’s make sure it's not some other issue! I would run the test for at least 2-3 passes to be sure! These are settings we used on another DFI MB, but they should be close to your settings, just load setup defaults before you start. And if you still have problems, try the modules in the other two slots.
