Derivatize
I have two VS1GSDS533D2 modules installed in a 1.67 GHz Apple PowerBook G4. They consistently cause kernel panics at least once per day. Factory installed 512 MB module does not cause this problem. However, ran repeated memtest runs and didn't find any faults with the RAM. RAM guy, any clues?? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 17, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 17, 2006 Please look up your system on our memory configurator and see if its listed. If so see if the reseller will let you exchange for the correct module.
Derivatize
Yes, I have laptop model M9969LL/A, and the memory configurator tells me I need modules CMSS1GB-533SOD. This is the same specification as VS1GSDS533D2. I have the proper memory.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 17, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 17, 2006 They are the same basic spec, but a different part. We can try replacing the modules you have if you like, but we can only replace for the same part# you send in. You can ask your reseller if they will let you change to the correct part#.
