alkolkin
I sent you this question before, but my old email address was registered so I never got an answer. I changed the email address so that I will now get your answer. I pucrhased a 2 GByte TwinX Matched Memory Pair containingTWINX2048-3200C2Pro SIMS for my brand new motherboard. It will not boot with them in it. I am currently using a slower 512MB pair (1024 MB total in two sims) from CORSAIR, but the system runs relatively slowly, is somehwat unstable and I occasionaly get memory errors with the 512MB RAM (I am not sure of which module I installed) and I would like to increase my performance significantly. Is it likely that the motherboard is incompatible with the 2048 PRO's? Might I have bad SIMS? Might I have a bad motherboard? Do I have to do something in the BIOS before I install them? Please advise ASAP, PLEASE. Albert
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 12, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 12, 2006 You cannot mix these modules, have you tried just these modules Twinx2048-3200C2Pro and then load setup defaults and set the memory voltage to 2.7 Volts? If you still have problems please test them one at a time with http://www.memtest.org.

If you still have problems please test them one at a time with http://www.memtest.org. I am not mixing two types. The system will not boot even into the BIOS with the twinx inside so I cannot load anything into the BIOS, which is set for the default options. I am looking for the best modules to use and at 1T if possible. The G.Skill F1-4000BIU2-2GBHV is certified for 1T in this Board. Is your Corsair TWINX2048-4400PRO 2GB Kit DDR550 XMS4400 ProSeries Memory certified at 1T? Albert
alkolkin
I tested a G.Skill 2GBHV DDR-500 that did work in 1T from slots 3 & 4 on the An832X. However, I also ordered Corsair Twinx2048-4400Pro and it also runs at 1T with the same Bios settings as the G.Skill, but it runs 6% faster with the Twinx without any changes to the Bios other than what I made for the G.Skill. The Twinx would not boot from slots 3 & 4, but it did from 1 & 2. In addition, it has the "cool" factor of those LED's and the price difference is very small. If anyone has any experience tweaking this memory for the A8N 32X, please let me know what settings you have found best. If anyone cares, my settings are: CPU Multiplier x14 External Clock 200 MHz PCIE Clock 100 MHz Core Voltage 1.4 V DDR SDRAM Voltage 2.6 V DDR Reference Voltage -20 mv K8 <-> NB HT 3x NB --> SB HT 3x NB <-> SB HT 3x DRAM DRAM Clock DDR400 CAS Latency 3.0 Roy Cycle 11 Clocks Row Refresh 18 Clocks Min RAS# Active Time 7 Clocks RAS# to Cas# Delay 3 Clocks Ras# Precharge Time 2 Clocks Write Recovery Time 2 Clocks Wite to Read Dealy 2 Clocks Read to Write Delay 4 Clocks DRAM Command Rate 1T Burast Length 4 Beats I have NO idea what these numbers mean, but this computer is bitchen fast. I am going to experiment with these settings after I do quite a bit of research. ANYONE's help would be appreciated. Thank you, I got the refund from ZipZoomFly and am happy with the 4400. By the way, I do not know how to reply using the express. Albert
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 18, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 18, 2006 You should have got an email with a link to get back to your Thread, or just log back in using the case number and password you used and it will take u right to it. alkolkin
You should have got an email with a link to get back to your Thread, or just log back in using the case number and password you used and it will take u right to it. The problem is that I found you by going to this forum and I never got a case number. Therefore, when I went to express I never could figure out what to do. The emails I get are just notices from the forum that you have responded. However, I think that if I ever have a problem I will get to you via the Express rather than just a comment to the forum, but I do not think that I will have any more problems; my success with your chips have been just fine except for that one set. Albert the Chief Geezer Hey Bud, I too have the same Abit Mobo and with the info you provided right from the bat I see some problems, such as "Core Voltage" it should be at "1.35" not 1.4 2nd, "DDR SDRAM Voltage" should be at " 2.70" not "2.60" and after you make the correct changes you will see the diffrences. Additional info: Your "Core Voltage" was set by AMD as default settings for your "CPU" which is incorrect at 1.4 just adjust it to "1.35" in your BIOS accordingly. And then if you feel like O.Cing you'll start of on the right foot. And as for your DDR SDRAM Voltage, this too can be adjusted accordingly, in your BIOS to "2.70". If you have any questions regarding this matter, email me. Ray DaGunnySgt P.S. Sorry it took so long to reply.

alkolkin
OK, I did what you suggested AND set the Ext Clock to 216 min AND set the PCIE External clock to 102. At that speed, the temp stays at about 50 degrees C, which seems just fine. I tried bringing the clock up a couple, but the screen just went blank and I had to reboot back to the 216. Everything else is at deafult. The memory settings are at their default latency and not at the ones I listed in the earlier post. I am not sure of what else I can do. Any suggestions to goose it up a bit? Thank you again. Albert
