Britgeezer
I has occassional problems in the last few weeks, but having consolidated some memory, one PC was having problems running WinTV - flickers, blank screen and reboot. All had been well until the 2nd Corsair Value Memory 2 x512MB kit (1GB) was added. >> VS1GBKIT400 MS crash gave me direction of driver or memory, I updated the WinTV and VGA + Chipset drivers - but it would still crash after about 15 -20 mins. I pulled the newly added and now suspect memory modules out and all is well, WinTV has been running fine for 3+ hours now, I put the same memory in another PC and it became flaky again ... my diagnosis is that the memory modules or at least one of them is bad. I'd like to run with 2GB in this Biostar nForce 6100 -M9 its good for 4GB in the specs. Seems time for RMA to me, ..... your opinion? BG
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 11, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 11, 2006 Please load setup/optimized defaults and then set the Dim Voltage to 2.7X volts (+.2 Volts W/Giga-Byte) and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, XMS2700C2 Cass 2-3-3-6 for example or if you have Value Select "BY SPD" and then test the module/'s one at a time with www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure.
