xxxomxxx
Hi i have a A8N32-SLI Deluxe Motherboard and 1 Pair of TwinX1024-4400 and 1 Pair of TwinX1024-4400C25 i accidently bought the C25 version on the second GB of Ram, though i hope it will run at the same Timings as the normal 4400 will. i have tried several settings, but the system (WinXP) gets unstable if i set the memory to 250mhz.. i have a AMD FX-60 clocked @ 2600. The whole System is watercooled, so i can overclock here and there without any problems. Just finding the right settings with so many options is really hard. my problem is, that i can not set the Memory Clock to 275. The A8N32-SLI Deluxe lets me choose from the settings i will list below. What will the best settings be for me? The "@" shows the currently set values as far is i know them ____________________________________________ Clock: 200,216,233,250 currently running @ 200 Cas: 2,3,1.5,2.5 @2.5 TRAS: 5-12 @8 TRP:2-6 @4 TRCD:2-6 @4 TRRD: 2T-7T @ 2T TRC: 7T-14T @ 11T TRFC 9T-16T @ 14T TRWT: 1-6clk @4clk TREF:3.9,7.8,15.6us TWCL: 1,2 R/W Queue Bybass: 2,4,8,16 Bypass Max: 0-7 Idle Cycle Limit: 0,4,8,16...256 Dynamic Idle Cycle Center: on/off DDR Driving Strength: Normal/weak 32 Byte Granularity: on/off TWR: 2,3clk DDR Input Strobe Skew: on/off DDR Data Driving Strength: on /off Read Preamble: 2-6ns @ 5.5ns Async latency: 4-11ns @ 7ns Bank Interleaving: Auto/Off @auto Burst Length: 4,8 @4 Hardware Memory Hole: on/off @off L2 BG Scrub: off, 40-655us @off Data Cache BG Scrub: off,40-655us @off MTRR Mapping: continuous/ discrete @continuous 1T/2T Memory Timing: 1T,2T @ 2T (since the Memory Modules are not the same i think this is the better value for this option) ____________________________________________ thanks for any help Cobra
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 10, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 10, 2006 I would not suggest mixing these two modules as they may not ever be stable in the same system. And AMD suggested using only matched modules with this platform. But you can try and set the timings and frequency manually to Cas 3-3-3-8 at DDR400 at 2.8 Volts and see if it's stable Please load setup defaults and then set these settings: DDR Voltage 2.8 Volts Clock: 200 Cas: 3 TRAS: 8 TRP: 3 TRCD:3 Bank Interleaving: Auto/Off @auto Burst Length: 4,8 @4 Any setting not listed dhould be set to Bios default, then test the system with http://www.memtest.org And if you want to over clock I would set the TRP and TRCD to 4. and lower your HTT Freq to 3 or 4. xxxomxxx
which RAM modules would get the most out of my System since i might have to change them since they really are for a intel rig and not an amd rig, correct? i am suprised that under the system configurator you list the 4400 modules as the best for overclocking, although the A8N32-SLI-Deluxe can never reach 550mhz because of my problem listed above... oh...and could you ask your lab guys how the managed to achieve the results in http://memtest.corsairmemory.com/print_report.aspx?model=Asus++A8N32-SLI+Deluxe&pn=TWINX1024-4400C25PT&id=5071 since as i said... the Motherboard only goes to 250 and not 275mhz as Memory FSB or is there a unlock feature? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 19, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 19, 2006 You have to set the memory frequency at 200 MHz and over clock your CPU to reach that frequency! Please go back and read that report again, I think you miss-understand the settings we used.
xxxomxxx
ok... sry i did not see that. But now i have set my CPU FSB to 275, my CPU Multiplier to 9.5x, but the Memory is still clocked at 200, how can i make the memory use the same freq as the cpu? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 21, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 21, 2006 It is locked with the CPU Frequency. the memory frequency setting is actually a divider setting 200 MHz/DDR400 would be 1-1 with the CPU Freq.
